The latest phase in the Jefferson Blvd. Streetscape project in South Bend has resulted in some fast-developing issues.
Traffic has switched to allow for eastbound travel only on Jefferson Blvd east of the Century Center.
As a result, authorities report a problem with speeding vehicles through the construction zone creating a safety problem for both the pedestrians and the workers.
Due to that, the following traffic signals are on flashing red, with temporary signs, at each intersection: Jefferson and Niles Avenue, Jefferson and Hill Street and Jefferson and St. Louis Boulevard.
